Personal History | The son of former Vice-Proconsul M’Ret of Romulus and Vulcan cultural attaché Su, T’Saen was raised in Paris, Earth. M’Ret opened an Embassy in the building formerly called Hotel Lutetia, 45 Boulevard Raspail in the 6th arrondissement. This was met with fierce opposition from the Romulan Star Empire, who claimed M’Ret had no right, and as a traitor should be forcibly returned to them. But as the Romulans refused any sort of official relations with the Federation, and M’Ret had been given diplomatic refugee status, there was little to be done. T’Saen was educated by tutors from the Vulcan compound and rarely had opportunities to socialize with children his age. He excelled in his studies but was prone to emotional outbursts which perplexed his Vulcan intimates. M’Ret was something of an absent parent, devoting his time to attempting to help the empire from the outside. The entire family were also constantly under threat of assassination attempts, with the Star Empire viewing M’Ret’s defection and continued survival as an embarrassment to the state. When T’Saen was eight, he managed to elude his attendants and ran away, eventually winding up at the Paris Ballet School by chance. A teacher mistook him for another danseur, thus igniting a lifetime passion. By the time T’Saen was 16, he won the spot of premier male danseur in the ballet company’s production of Giselle. On the evening of the debut, M’Ret and Su’s aircar was destroyed by an explosive placed by Tal Shiar agents. T’Saen wasn’t told of their deaths until after the performance. |

Service Record | After a brief guardianship period, T’Saen enrolled in Starfleet Academy, reasoning that his parents’ deaths were an attack on Federation ideals, and that those ideals should be defended. After graduating, T’Saen was initially assigned as gamma-shift helmsman of the USS Envoy, a Galaxy class vessel assigned to diplomatic relations with planets considering or in the process of joining the Federation. He was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade after two years, and made Chief Helmsman after four. Towards the end of his time with the Envoy, Angel One became a full member of the Federation. During his spare time, he continues with ballet. He consistently gets asked to return to the stage professionally but refuses, saying his place is with Starfleet now. Shortly before being assigned to the Aphrodite, he was promoted to full Lieutenant, citing his dedication and professionalism. |
